FTA Kunming Scientific Conference – Forests, trees and agroforestry for diverse sustainable landscapes (22-24 June 2021)

The CGIAR research program on Forests, Trees and Agroforestry (FTA) is organizing with the Kunming Institute of Botany, the Chinese Academy of Science (CAS) and other Chinese partners an international conference in Kunming, China, in the third week of June 2021, on the theme of Forests, trees and agroforestry for diverse sustainable landscapes. The event is part of the road towards the 15th Conference of the Parties of the UN convention on Biological Diversity (CBD 15) also to be organized in Kunming, 2022. This will be a major event during which the post 2020 agenda on biodiversity will be finalized.

Recommendations

The CGIAR research program on Forests, Trees and Agroforestry (FTA) organized with the Kunming Institute of Botany, the Chinese Academy of Science (CAS) and other Chinese partners a hybrid international conference in Kunming, China, in the third week of June 2021, on the theme of Forests, trees and agroforestry for diverse sustainable landscapes.
The event is part of the road towards the 15th Conference of the Parties of the UN convention on Biological Diversity (CBD 15) organized in 2 parts, the first one virtual online (11-15 October 2021) and the second one as face-to-face event also in Kunming (25 April-8 May 2022).

The FTA Kunming Conference gathered close to 400 participants both on site in Kunming and online, with close to 100 scientific presentations, to make the state of the evidence towards the implementation of the CBD, and in the objective to better link science and research to policy, development and implementation, around six technical themes.

This page gathers the full proceedings from the conference.
