CIFOR’s EU-funded GML project supports sustainable woodfuel production in Cameroon’s East Region. Working together with refugees from the Central African Republic and host communities, the project is developing agroforestry systems with native food trees to increase local tree cover and support nutritious diets, as well as fast-growing species that can be used for fuel; holding consultation forums to negotiate land-use norms and minimize conflict; and promoting the use of energy efficient stoves that use less wood.
